Is There a Verified or Vetted Networking App Just for Founders?

Meetworth Team· October 19, 2026· 3 min read

Yes, apps that vet their members exist. Meetworth is one of them: it is a swipe-to-match networking app where each member is manually verified with business registration proof and an ID, and it is closed to the general public. It is built for people who own or run a business, not for job seekers or casual users. It is not invite-only, and anyone who owns a business can apply.

What does "verified" or "vetted" actually mean in a networking app?

The words are used loosely, so check what a given app does. Vetting can mean any of the following:

  • Self-declared: you type your job title and the app accepts it.
  • Document-based: you upload proof that a business exists and proof of who you are, and a person or a system checks it.
  • Referral-based: an existing member or an application committee decides who gets in.

Document-based checks tell you the most about whether the person you are talking to really runs a company. Before you rely on any app, look for a written description of its process on its own site or store listing.

How does Meetworth verify members?

Meetworth states that each member is manually verified. To join, you upload valid business registration proof and an ID. The team checks them, and then you can start swiping. The site describes manual verification only, so do not expect instant approval.

Meetworth is also not a social network for everyone. It is aimed at founders and business owners. It is not a job board and it is not for recruiters looking for candidates or for students without a registered business.

How does matching work?

  • You see one business owner at a time.
  • You swipe to show interest.
  • A match needs both sides to swipe yes, and chat opens only then.

You can browse as a deck, on a map, or as a list. There is also advanced filtering, 1:1 and group chats, groups, a feed, username search with connection requests, and a "Nominate a founder" feature for vouching for an entrepreneur you know.

Can I control whether other members see me?

Yes. In Settings, then Privacy, you can turn off Discoverable to stop appearing in other members' Discover. The same screen has Show on Map, Show in previews, and Blocked Users. These settings are free.

What are the limits of Meetworth?

These are stated on the Meetworth site, and they matter when you choose an app:

  • The network is much smaller than LinkedIn's. Meetworth does not publish a member count.
  • The app is English only.
  • It runs on iPhone (iOS 17.0 or later) and Android. There is no web app.
  • The full experience needs a paid Premium subscription.
  • It is not a dedicated co-founder matching service, and it does not promise access to investors.

If you mainly want a co-founder, see this comparison of co-founder apps. For other gated options, see private, invite-only networks for verified entrepreneurs.

What does it cost?

Meetworth is free to download. Premium is needed for the full experience, including unlimited swiping and matching, advanced filtering, group chats, and the feed. Listed on the US App Store (checked October 10, 2026): $17.99 per month or $89.99 per year. The price shown in the app at purchase applies.

Which apps are no longer an option?

Two names that used to come up for founder swiping are gone. Shapr is listed as discontinued by Wikipedia and SaaSHub. Bumble's help centre says "Bumble Bizz is no longer available." See the Shapr alternative page if you used either.

How do I choose a founder-only app?

  1. Read how the app verifies members, and whether a person or only a form checks you.
  2. Check who is allowed to apply. "Founders only" can mean startup founders or any business owner.
  3. Look at the limits: platform, language, network size, and price.
  4. Check the privacy controls before you create a profile.
  5. Decide what you want: peers, partners, local contacts, or a co-founder. Different apps fit different goals.

Meetworth fits owners who want to meet other owners one at a time, for partnerships, peer advice, local contacts, or a circle of owners. Company details are on the About page.
